Flying Pig Marathon - 2018
I always dreamed of running a marathon, and the 20 year anniversary of the Flying Pig Marathon seemed like a good time to give it a go. I started training in January like I've never trained before, and by race day the first Sunday in May, my knees and feet felt like they were being held together by Kinesiology tape. My goal time was under 4 hours, and I crushed it with a time of 3:46:52! The journey to that day was long and painful but it taught me to follow my dreams no matter what and stick to it no matter how long because if you really want something and try with all your heart, you will accomplish amazing things.
University Honor Ambassador
I became an Honors Ambassador the Spring of my freshman year. Ambassadors are the face of the Honors Program at UC and help incoming and current students learn more about everything the honors program has to offer. Whether it be presenting for potential bearcats or organizing events for current students, this leadership role has allowed me to step outside of my introverted engineering personality. I have gained public speaking and interpersonal speaking skills because of this role.
